Because I was procrastinating revising my speech [speeches are hard], I ended up spending ten minutes sharpening and color-coding Kavis pencils. She has a lot of them. She was sitting next to me, doing stickers, and the following dialogue ensued: Me: Kavi, say thank you to mommy for sharpening your pencils so you can do art. Kavi, obediently: Thank you, mommy. [pause] And this time, Im not just saying it because you told me to. [big hug] Thank you SO much! Yes, that motivated another five minutes of sharpening. :-)
