Because of the extreme poverty on the rez, outside assistance is always needed. The reality on many of the nation’s Native American reservations, places which are home to hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom, particularly infants and elders are in danger of freezing to death. Cheyenne River Lakota Nomads on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation are having a fund raiser to try and help those in need. With unemployment running an average of 80% many of our children and elders will need help this winter. They will need coats hats gloves and anything to get them through the winter. There have been deaths among elders do to the severe weather and their inability to provide proper heating for themselves. Also their are people who just fall on bad times and we would like to help when and where we can. We will have a bank account set up for the Cheyenne River Lakota Nomads, for the proper distribution of funds. Some of the materials will be distributed through the school system as we feel the teachers will more likely know what will be needed by who. Monies will be distributed on an as needed basis. 100% of donations will go to those in need. Records and verification of all transaction will be kept and shown to anyone who questions the integrity of our actions. The cold weather will be upon us very soon and we ask for your help to enable us to help the needy before its to late.
