Before our son was born, we started thinking about what to name him. We wanted his name to be meaningful. Ashley wasnt in favor of Rambo, so it certainly made things more difficult on my part. Eventually we were led to name him JohnDavid Piper Sullivan. John - Jehovah is a gracious God. David - beloved Piper - joyous spirit Sullivan - most likely means dark eyed, but most importantly means he is ours (John)- God has certainly been gracious to our family. Ash and I are so thankful for Gods grace in saving us and richly blessing us with our son! (David) - JohnDavid is greatly loved (beloved)! (Piper) And we experience his joyous spirit on a daily basis! He continually makes us smile and laugh! Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of ones youth. (Psalms 127:3-4 NASB) *As an added bit of meaning, David is Ashleys dad. John Piper and David Platt are 2 of our favorite preachers.
