Before that advent of the internet, the Big and Strong pursuit - TopicsExpress

Before that advent of the internet, the Big and Strong pursuit seemed pretty simple You found a gym where a whole bunch of big dudes trained. You watched them lift, you copied what they did. Maybe you read some magazines to go along with it. You asked to train with them, or perhaps you found a crew of lifters and you trained together, and you talked to them and listened and STF when they talked because they were bigger and stronger than you NOWDAYS though, you can join a forum and argue over studies that you didnt read, debate whether or not someone is natty, and then take advice from a 19 year old who is 170 pounds and posting their godawful journey on youtube and instagram. And to go along with that, because we have a generation that doesnt often respect elder knowledge, you ignore or argue with people who training age is longer than your actual lifespan. Obviously information is awesome and social media is a powerful force, and both powerlifting and bodybuilding are growing. But it would do people well to pay more attention to lifting history and respect experiential knowledge, versus following along to gurus, social media characters, and flavor of the months experts who have read a lot but trained little. Something to keep in mind #elitefts #mountaindogdiet
