Being Perfect? As a Born Again Believer, you probably hear a lot about Faith, Works and Salvation! Almost everyone even unbelievers want to judge a Born Again Believer, by what they do or how they act or what they say! But is this really what the Word of God says? Are Born Again Believers really made Perfect, if so when, and what does that mean? 1 Corinthians 11:1 Be imitators of me (Paul), just as I also am of Christ. So if we do not always imitate Jesus then are we still saved? A good question, Once again we have to go to the Bible for our answer.. Ephesians 2:1-10 And you (unbelievers) were dead (in your spirit) in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air (Satan and the evil ones), of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too (all Born Again Believers) all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. 4 But God, (the Father)being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved, 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the (free to us) gift of God; 9 not as a result of works (anything we can do or will ever do), so that no one may boast. Note: (this verse is for after you are Born Again) 10 For we are His workmanship (God created us for His purposes) created in Christ Jesus for good works (the purposes of God in words and actions from our love for God), which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. THESE VERSES EXPLAIN IT SO FULLY! We were dead in our spirits because Adam ate of the forbidden fruit and in that day, his spirit and Eves died and since she was the Mother of all Living, all of us born by a human mans seed was born with a dead spirit. Our spirit is our God connection. That is why Jesus was Born without sin, His Father was God the Holy Spirit not a human man. So without the spirit being alive, then our souls (mind, will and emotions) and bodies, followed the ways of the world not knowing God. But God in His great love for us, makes us alive (our spirit is resurrected or as Jesus said Born Again, never more to die in John 3:1-21) through His Gift of Grace by our Faith (and even our saving faith is given to us as another gift from God) in Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. So all Born Again Believers have a resurrected PERFECT spirit, our God connection has been Born Again, NOT BY ANYTHING-- we can do or have done or will do, except receive RIGHTEOUSNESS and the gifts of God in the faith He gives to us. Hebrews 12:22-23 But you (as a Born Again Believer) have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous (those saved by Grace through Faith) made perfect, And through the Holy Spirit, leading our born again spirit, being created in Jesus the Christ, as a New Creation, And each day becoming more like Him. We are to do the good works, that God purposed and created for us, even before we were born. But everything we say or do, has to be done from the LOVE within our hearts for God, or it is worthless to HIM. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-24 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. 16 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the (leading of the Holy) Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. So to answer the questions at the beginning, yes, Born Again Believers should always speak and have actions as Jesus the Christ, by being led by the Holy Spirit out of their love for God. But many times we fail, why? Because although our spirit has been Born Again and Glorified Perfect, our body and our soul are still under the curse of death from God, and sometimes they rule what we say or do, instead of our Born Again spirit. When we die, our souls will pass through the valley of the shadow of death and be Resurrected and Glorified Perfect, just as our spirits have been, then both of them will go to be with Jesus, our bodies will go to dust. But when we are raptured, then our spirits and souls will return with Jesus the Christ and our bodies will be Resurrected Glorified, made Perfect and re-united with our glorified spirits and souls, so we will once again become whole. So when we fail the Lord, Remember God has made a way for us to have victory over our failures: 1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So do not judge someone when they claim to be a Born Again Believer, even if they are not Perfect in your eyes...God is working on each of us and ONE DAY all of us will be made Perfect in Body, Soul and Spirit, in Jesus the Christ, as His Bride. https://youtube/watch?v=4l2OkO4Cgfw
