*Below is a copy of the mail I sent to Senator Teslim Folarin, a gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo state afterbwitnessing the recklessness of his convoy today* Dear Senator Teslim Folarin, Greetings. As a citizen of this country and an Oyo state indigene, a state you now wish to govern as the executive governor, I write to bring to your attention what I observed you and your campaign train do today. At about 5:45-6:00pm today 24th January, 2015, your convoy drove through the Sango-UI road in a manner that not only constituted disturbance of public peace but also endangerment of life and disregard for constituted agency of the government (FRSC). I am disturbed that with you seated in a white Toyota Land Cruiser SUV, that you would allow your supporters hang on car windows and drive at such high speed within a slowly moving traffic while deliberately matching brakes to create scary screeching sounds. Some were on foot, chasing other motorists away from the road that was built from their taxes. The expressions on most of the people in your convoy was, to say the least, murderous. My knowledge of human biology and behaviour, tells me they were undoubtedly under influence. Sir, your convoy refused to stop at the FRSC checkpoint very close to the Sango Police Post, even if just for the formality. To worsen things, your convoy ran the light at the Poly junction, meandering dangerously within the traffic of motorists who chose to respect the lights. Sir, as a serving senator or even former senator, it is absolutely unthinkable that you would allow your convoy to disobey the very laws you swore to uphold. It is even more shocking that you could chase people off the road, the very people you intend to govern as their governor. Sir, as a political office holder and an aspiring governor, the burden of responsibilities placed on your shoulders is quite high. I hope this reality will dawn on you and govern the way you treat us citizens of this nation. I may like to add that for this singular act of lawlessness, brigandage and citizen oppression, you will not have my vote, and I believe all right thinking citizens will not vote for you. Of course, I do not expect the loss of my vote to give you sleepless night. And I would be shocked if you replied this mail at all, but I shall put a copy on social media for the education of citizens. Let us build a new Nigeria sir. Thank you for reading my mail. Ayodele.
