Besides photos, I dont often post on FB. Though when I come across something that I feel might benefit others or that I would be interested in if I saw someone else post- Im compelled to share. I was at coffee with the principal this morning (a monthly event for the parents of VOICE Charter School) where the topic was presented by our Intervention teachers. In the midst of talking about IEPs and 504s (specialized/individualized education programs) the question came up on how parents find out from the teachers that their student might need some assistance. Our respectful and thoughtful principal paused and was, as always, specific and articulate as to how tricky that step can be because of all the feelings/ideas/labels that go along with such a suggestion. I could tell that he cared deeply about this subject. He even articulated we care SO much for these kids. He then inquired if anyone had seen Brené Browns TED talk. No one in the room had- so he took the time in the meeting to share it with us. This not only changed my morning, I think it will be changing my life...
