Between Oregon and California, there are so many differences, beyond the weather. In California its all about liability and litigation! LOL 1: Going to the store in the rain. In California there are bag dispensers inside, for your wet umbrellas! And they rarely have rain! LOL Here is hellish rainy Oregon, NO bags. Just wet slippery floors. 2: Sidewalks...! In Oregon they are broken and highly irregular. Watch out because you WILL trip, just walking down the street. In California they sand them, patch them, tape them off...anything to KEEP you from falling (and SUING the cities ass off!) (Speed bumps are frowned on in California too, because people sue for the damage to their expensive cars. LOTS of speed bumps in Oregon. They like control here!) 3: Night time streets (and property). In Oregon they keep things nice and dark. I used to do my 2 or 3 mile power walk at night, in California. WAY too dark here in Oregon! I have to use a flashlight just to get to my car, right here at my apartment! Sheeesh...in California my landlord would have been sued by now for not keeping the property well lit. There is WAY too much crime in SoCal to leave the streets pitch dark. ...The crooks should move here! LOL 4: Those trees! I already told you about the trees here, and how they do NOT trim them. In Oregon you can be hit by a falling tree, or limb, at any time. California doesnt even risk it! They trim the buh-jeezuss out of their trees! Many adjustments to make here. Some I have not mentioned...and may never. ...And watch out for being allergic to EVERYTHING! LOL
