BibleEtcJanuary172014 I am committed daily to reading two pages of the Old Testament; one page of the New; something from the Qur’an; and a hadith. OT from a Bible Survey I had put together, with twelves sessions for a Muslim/Christian group. Exodus 12:1-13 On the 14th day of the first month eat a Passover lamb (taken from the sheep or goat). Eat it hurried and standing. (By the time of Jesus, the Passover is celebrated while reclining on couches by a table.). They are to mark with blood the door posts and the lintels, so the angel of death will pass over. (I have always had trouble with the idea of God killing the first born sons. What IS going on here?) NT from CEB Mark 8:27-- 9:1 At Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asks “Who do men say that I am?” Peter says: “You are the Christ… God’s chosen… God’s anointed One…the Messiah.” Jesus predicts His death and resurrection, repeated a second time at 9:31 and a third time at 10:34. This is too important to miss! And we are to take up our cross, and daily follow Him, denying ourselves. Quran. 3. Verses 93-99 Abraham had true faith and was never an idolater. Abraham founded the place of prayer that is Mecca. Hadith. Sahib al Bukhari. Book 2/ Chapter 24/ verse 35 Page 69 Blessed are those who have special prayers on the nights of Ramadan. Weight on home scale. 260# (for the third day in a row) My weight will be 217 or lower on Jan 1, 2015, and at some point after that 167. Right now, I am 30 pounds under my gross 290, and have 93 pounds of fat and blubber to lose to get down to 167. Royal Canadian exercises. Chart 1. D+ Fifth day. Six minutes. Two people had birthdays, and each will get a special birthday card featuring their picture with a complimentary cannoli. (We were at Angelo’s Italian restaurant.)
