Bihar State Replicates Telangana Model of Residential Education for Scheduled Castes Inspired by the Telangana model, Government of Bihar has taken a decision in principle to start residential schools for SCs in their State. Following directions given by its Chief Minister, Mr Majhi, Social Welfare Department had sent six teams to study educational facilities for SCs in various states. Telangana was one of such states. The team that toured the residential schools of Telangana was so impressed with Telangana model that they wanted to replicate the same immediately in Bihar to benefit 1.25 lakh children in phases. Necessary information is being supplied to Bihar Government on formation of a separate Society for Residential Schools, recruitment of teachers who can deliver quality and model of Engineering Wing to construct the school buildings.
