Bill Clinton is simply an idiot. I wonder if he has ever actually purchased a gun before in his life. If he did, he would know that purchasing a firearm is substantially more difficult than simply showing an ID to vote. If purchasing a firearm were as simple, then I should simply be able to pick up my assault weapon at the same time as I register under the motor voter laws. Under Clinton’s logic, then we should scrap photo ID and background checks when we buy a firearm. If voting were under the same requirements as buying a firearm, then Clinton will sure be surprised when he finds out it will take a phone call to the FBI for clearance to vote each time. If voting were the same as buying an assault weapon, then it would cost someone at least $1400 to vote. I hardly think that is happening. In our country, one must possess an ID for any number of things. If one wants to check out a book at the public library, one must have an ID. If one wants to cash a check, open up a bank account, or write a check, one must have a valid ID. If one wants to rent a DVD, adopt a pet, or make a credit card purchase, one must have an ID. If one wants to obtain a bank account, a credit card, or a passport - guess what - one must have an ID. I could go on and on documenting the many things that we need an ID for in our every day living experiences. One of the arguments liberals make is that requiring ID provides the greatest hardship for poor people and senior citizens. Well guess what - these folks need ID to receive welfare, food stamps, and social security. Another argument they make is that there are some folks who cannot afford an ID. In nearly all jurisdictions wherein the voter ID requirements have been enacted, the local government has made it known that the individual IDs are available at no cost. Well, there are some invalids who can’t get out to get the ID, the liberals argue! Let me ask you something - if you revere your right to vote, won’t you make arrangements from a friend or a charitable organization to help you get a ride to get a necessary ID? Seriously - there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that somebody cannot make the effort to get an ID. Folks, there are so many aspects in our lives that require ID, I seriously cannot fathom that there are actually people who do not have ID. Let’s face it, folks. The liberals are once again trying to raise a red herring. They are trying desperately to appeal to the low information voters and make conservatives out to be the racist ones who don’t want the minorities to be allowed to vote. Tell me this - who are the real racists, the ones who want each and every person (not just minorities) to provide ID, or those who think that minorities are too stupid to be able to figure out how to get an ID?! What is boils down to is this - liberals have set up countless organizations to cast illegal votes on their behalf and an ID verification would throw a huge monkey wrench into their plans to steal as many elections as possible through voter fraud. Remember ACORN in 2008? There is no valid reason why anyone would be against voter ID requirements other than to facilitate fraudulent voting practices. That is the crux of the matter, pure and simple. Major Rant: Voter ID Today marked an historic occasion - the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech. Truly a momentous event in our nation’s history and well worth celebrating. “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Probably one of the most famous and true passages in the speech. I love this passage! I think it rings true for most Americans. I know that it rings true for those who are truly conservative, as we truly look at people for the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Well, leave it to the Democrats to try and politicize this monumental occasion and steer it towards their lame liberal agenda. Today Bill Clinton had this to say: “A great democracy does not make it harder to vote than to buy an assault weapon." Seriously? So now Dr. King’s words are twisted in an attempt to vilify those who are in favor of protecting our sacred right and responsibility to vote - and to not have that privilege pre-empted by those who would commit voter fraud? Let me tell you something Billy Boy - first of all, we are not a democracy - we are a democratic Republic. Second of all, requiring ID to vote does NOT make it harder to vote than to buy an assault weapon. That is all for now. -Chad
