Blog 49 FORGET ME NOT by Stephanie & Anne Those who are ill, those families with ill family members, are both in need of belonging, still being part of the lives of others, of club updates, of vacation fun, of adversities within lives outside their family. Don’t hesitate to timely share not only your joy and triumphs but also your ailments with health, heart, families, or work. For those dealing with illnesses which consume great deals of time, money, and energy, a different kind of pain occurs when shut out or cut out of life outside immediate family. Praying for YOU cannot happen unless your needs are made known - pray with specificity. Inclusion is good medicine for those receiving and those giving both. Sometimes sharing your knowledge gained and road travel through adversities or illnesses can help others forego some of the setbacks on their journeys. So sharing is good medicine for all involved. You care for me; I care for you. We pray for each other. It’s not the “misery loves company” but it definitely is the “pay-back momentum” that we all find so helpful, healthy and rewarding. I want to give back too so bend my ear once in a while. One thing I can do well while mending is “listen.” As you dont have a magic pill for me, I doubtfully have one for you but please know I care as deeply for you as you do for me. There is no shame in being ill or in being in need. There should be no isolation in being ill or in need either, for the afflicted or their family. Inadvertently or purposefully, this happens more often than not. Hug someone today who is ill and share with them. Do ask them, “How are you?” But also share with them how you are doing, how your family is doing. Like the flower, you’ll probably find them quite hardy. They will appreciate being included and allowed to give back. We all love to feel valued and included – each is good fertilizer for our brains and hearts. “The perennial forget me not flower spreads easily, freely self-seeding for more of the wildflower to grow and bloom in shady spots where the tiny seeds may fall. Forget me not flower care is minimal, as with most native wildflowers. Forget me not plants grow best in a damp, shady area, but can adapt to full sun.” As always blessings my friends
