#Book Review of #DestinationWedding from #ReadersFavorite - https://readersfavorite/book-review/33278 Reviewed by Natasha Jackson for Readers Favorite When your ex-husband leaves you for a much younger woman, things are bad. But when that ex-husband has to share a room with you at your daughter’s destination wedding because the hotel mixed up the reservations, things go from bad to worse. This is where Claire finds herself in Destination Wedding by Deanna Lynn Sletten. Her own boyfriend decides not to attend, so Claire finds herself completely alone with Jim who is acting odd about his own wife’s mysterious absence. I’ll admit that Deanna Lynn Sletten’s story had me expecting plenty of melodrama, yet this story was nothing but good old fashioned hilarity and amusing dramatics. What Claire doesn’t know, however, is that Jim is miserable and regretting his actions, and so he should. But Destination Wedding isn’t really about bitter exes, although there is a hint of bitterness as there should be. It is about learning to move on with your life and play the hand you were dealt. Four years after her divorce, Claire has a successful business, close friends and a boyfriend she is contemplating marrying. Deanna Lynn Sletten does a fantastic job writing what can only be described as high jinks. This story was so funny with the hilarious bickering between Claire and Jim, the future in-laws and loads of intercommunication. Watching this slightly contentious relationship grow to something more between a couple that’s already divorced was a new twist and I found it enjoyable. The author takes a mature approach to second chance love showing that the grass isn’t always greener. I don’t know if Claire thought that so much since she had to either live in the past or move on as Jim clearly had. But old wounds opened often heal quicker than those left to fester, which is a lesson this couple learned after an unexpected week in the Bahamas.
