Brandi Dodson asked, We are prayerfully considering homeschooling - TopicsExpress

Brandi Dodson asked, We are prayerfully considering homeschooling our 2nd grader next year. He has ADHD and is very active and very bright, but we feel like he is just kind of sliding by in public school, since that setting doesnt do much for his learning style. Ive begun doing research into different curriculum, but I find that when I sit down and start reading about them, I quickly get overwhelmed. I was hoping for recommendations for kids with different learning styles. He is just barely at grade level in reading, so I would like to encourage reading without burning him out on it, since he doesnt care for reading much. Lots of visual and hands-on learning experiences would be great. Math is his strong point, and he really seems to enjoy it. I also was wondering if it is better to get a whole kit that. Im just not sure what would work better for us! One more thing, I would prefer a faith-based curriculum, but it is not a deal-breaker. I can always incorporate our faith into our lessons on my own if needed. Any advice would be appreciated!
