Brawners, On Saturday the 30th of September we will be having a charity WOD raising funds for John Bishop. John is a 5yr old with cerebal palsy which prevents him doing most physical activities such as walking, kicking a footy and crossing his legs..however John takes all of these obstacles in his stride and keeps pushing on with a great attitude We will be asking for a $10 donation to participate in the little HERO WOD which will be on at 830am, it will be a fun morning and will include an appearance from John and his dad Stephen who both myself and JP worked with previously. We will also be holding a raffle and BBQ on the day to raise further funds. If you are involved in a business that would like to donate a prize please email me: [email protected] They need our help to chip away at the $20,000 still needed to reach a $70,000 goal so John can undergo Selective Doral Rhizotomy surgery at the St Louis Children’s Hospital in the US in December. The operation involves cutting nerves in the back to relieve the “spasticity” in the muscles, and coupled with intense physical therapy, will allow him to improve the strength, balance and flexibility he needs to be more independent.
