Breast Infrared Thermal Imaging is a radiation and risk-free breast screening method. It is incredibly accurate, there are relatively few false positives (giving a false reading of potential breast cancer) or false negatives (missing a case of potential breast cancer). Studies suggest about 90% accuracy in both respects (compared to mammography at 70%). In simple terms, mammography is looking for a structure in the breast but this has to be the size of a small grape to be detected. Before a cancerous lump occurs the body creates more blood vessels in the area and this increases blood flow and that in turn increases heat.
