Bridging program ng PHL at Australia sa Pinoy nurses, simula na by Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden Aug 2, 2013 9:34am HKT SINIMULAN na ngayong buwan ang bridging program para sa mga Filipino registered nurses and nursing educators sa pagitan Pilipinas at Australia. Ayon kay Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, mayroon nang 100 rehistradong nurse at 30 nurse educators ang sasali sa nasabing proyekto. “I am pleased to announce that the bridging program that will enable Filipino registered or licensed nurses to practice and register in Australia has started.There will be 100 registered nurses and 30 nure educators who will initially join the bridging program,” ayon sa kalihim. Katuwang naman sa pagpapatupad ng Bridging Program ang Monash University at ang Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ng DOLE kaagapay ang Commission on Higher Education at mga piling unibersidad sa Pilipinas na kabilang sa Top 20 higher education institutions (HEIs), batay na rin sa kanilang performance sa Philippine nursing licensure examination. Popondohan naman ng Aus-Aid ang bridging program ngunit ang mga participants ang gagastos sa kanilang airfare and accommodation. Tatagal ng 12 linggo ang bridging program curriculum—limang linggo ay gugulin sa on-line learning sa e Philippines; isang linggo naman para sa face to face intensive program, kasama na rito ang lectures, tutorials, and simulations sa Melbourne; at 6 na linggo naman para sa clinical placement sa Melbourne, Australia rin. Mayroong 5 modules ang bridging program gaya ng mga sumusunod: (1) ang context of health care in Australia; (2) Australian health care system; (3) Australian legal system; (4) regulation of nursing in Australia; at ang (5) safety in health care in Australia. “Participants’ learning progress during the program will be assessed through on-line quizzes, essays, and written examinations. They will be acquainted with a variety of online materials, including articles, textbook extracts, podcasts, and videos relating to Australia’s health care culture,” ayon pa sa DOLE. Sa report ni PRC Chairman Teresita R. Manzala kay Secretary Baldoz, ang mga participant sa bridging program ay sasailalim sa extensive training. “Clinical placement for the nurses and nursing educators will be done after the participants have passed the first six weeks of the program… The bridging program will definitely raise the efficiency and competitiveness of Filipino nurses. This is a valuable opportunity which will not only benefit the nurses themselves but more importantly, the health care system of the Philippines, as well,” paliwanag pa ng kalihim. admin chiz
