Call for donations towards Aiya Youth Convention Program- Kandopa Village this Christmas: 27th Dec 2014 to 1st Jan 2015 To my dear friends, brothers, sisters, various leaders and viewers right across Kagua Erave District, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea, South Pacific and the World; our keen youths from 13 Catholic churches (clusters) in Sumi Parish, Aiya LLG, Kagua-Erave District, Mendi, Papua New Guinea are preparing for a week’s intensive conference/convention on Youths’ Spiritual and psychological rehabilitation development program as a follow-up event after the first Wasuma Easter Conference in 2014. Such youth events are useful especially after the negative impacts of series of tribal conflicts in Aiya areas. Isaiah Timba, the parish priest of Sumi Catholic Church in Aiya LLG write this letter. We are hosting a convention for over 500 youths (young people) during Christmas school break from 27th Dec 2014 to 1st Jan 2015 at Kandopa Catholic Church Ground. Many young people in our society have begun to lose their moral and spiritual directions in their lives, and thus face social and behavioral problems in the community. We organize this retreat for the youths to see their lives from the eyes of faith, and may help transform them. It would cost us more than K11,000.00 to host this event. We now request if any interested group would help us with some funding for this significant convention for our young people in these 6 days event. Our young people would appreciate your any help.
