The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the development of the Tajik and Kyrgyz private sectors with a special focus on regional integration of the handicraft sector. It will be reached through the reinforcement of the Tajik and Kyrgyz Handicraft Business Intermediary Organizations (BIOs), particularly bolstering their representative role, their sustainability and their competences on supporting Small Medium Enterprises (specific objective). The project has three expected results: 1) BIOs increased their capacity to influence State actors and policies in favor of SMEs (macro level); 2) BIOs strengthened their role in the handicraft sector and their legitimacy towards SMEs (meso level); 3) BIOs increased their capacities to assist SMEs to approach the internal and foreign markets (micro level).
