CAPE BRETON ARTISANS: THE CRAFT CAPITAL A mobile app developed for the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design is driving more people, if not yet to her door, then at least to contact Brenda Reichels Tears of Glass studio. The free app was designed in 2012 as part of the Creative Island campaign, said Elizabeth Cross, the centre’s marketing manager. Available for both Android & iPhone, the app allows visitors to search by name or type of art or craft, such as clay, wood or textiles, to name a few. They can also search by artisan region, such as the Cabot Trail, or find nearby craftspeople by using the app’s GPS function when travelling.
