For a US25.00 dollar membership contribution, an OWWA member is entitled to the following benefits and services: INSURANCE BENEFITS Disability and Dismemberment Benefits.Up to Php100,000.00 for injuries sustained due to accidents while working abroad. Death Benefit. A Php100,000.00 benefit in case of death due to natural cause and Php200,000.00 in case of death due to accident, shall be received by the legal heirs. Burial Benefit. A On top of the death benefit, a rider of Php20,000.00 shall be received by the legal heir for the funeral expenses. EDUCATION AND TRAINING BENEFITS A member may avail for himself or his duly designated beneficiary any of the following scholarship programs subject to a selection process and accreditation of participating institutions: Skills-for-Employment Scholarship Program for technical vocational training scholarship. A maximum of P14,500.00 per course shall be provided to qualified OFWs and their beneficiaries. Education for Development Scholarship Program for baccalaureate courses. A maximum of P60,000.00 educational assistance per year shall be provided to qualified beneficiaries of OFWs. Seafarers Upgrading Program for sea-based members. Member seafarers shall be entitled to one upgrading program for every three (3) membership contributions. Qualified grantees shall be provided with maximum training assistance of P7,500.00. Bridging Program. It is a scholarship grant given to qualified graduates of BS Mechanical Engineering and BS Electrical Engineering who wish to pursue a BS Marine Engineering course. SOCIAL SERVICES AND FAMILY WELFARE ASSISTANCE Repatriation Program. Members may avail of OWWAs assistance to return to the Philippines whenever necessary. Reintegration Program. Members may avail of the Reintegration Program of the Department of Labor and Employment. This includes community organizing, capability-building, social preparation programs and livelihood loans.
