CASTE SYSTEM VS SALVERY…Which is worse? Off course the caste system is far worse than slavery… Let me explain while slavery is one of the extreme evils a person can do to another person, it is nowhere as evil as the caste system, Because You could come out of slavery in many ways: 1- you could buy yourself out of slavery. 2- someone else could pay your price and set you free. 3- the govt. could change the laws and abolish the slavery as it happened in British colonies when Willian Wilberforce relentlessly campaigned to convince the British parliament to abolish slavery in all its colonies. He retired from parliament in 1826. The British parliament, to honour William Wilberforce, finally agreed to abolish slavery in 1833 in all its colonies. The news came to William Wilberforce juts 3 days before he died. Once you were free you were considered equal member of the society. But when it comes to caste system, You can never, ever, ever get rid of the curse of caste system. It has been sanctioned as the god’s command in religious scriptures. I mean how evil it is that the man made religion condemned the entire section of the population to a life of misery, destitute, humiliation, exploitation and discrimination for generation after generation with no way out of this miserable and helpless situation. Once you are branded as lower caste or untouchable your generations are condemned for eternity. No matter how hard you work to move upward in the society, the people wont let you. This invisible band of man-made curse will always hang by your neck. Though it may seem invisible but it is there and all the people around you will look at you, treat you and judge you by this band around your neck. how sad it is that you are condemned the day you are born even though you have not committed any crime or broken any laws. And this has been going on for centuries. Despite the noble efforts of the govt., it is still there. i have no other way to describe it but to call it a great injustice to innocent masses, a disgrace to entire society, and an unforgivable crime against humanity. here we have religion in its most evil and ugly form.
