CHECKING YOURSELF AS A BELIEVER. Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified. 1 Cor 9:27 The apostle Paul asserted he align himself to the message so he doesnt fall short. From the scripture above we know that you can preach and yet be disqualified before the Lord. May that never be our portion. In view of this these are a few questions we ought to ask ourselves. What are we preaching? Are we preaching the true gospel or man-made gospels? In Matt 7:22, Jesus shows the response that will be given to the disqualified. A careful study of the scripture above showed that some of them were working with an anointing. The anointing invoked the power in the name of Jesus. Their petition is was it not in your name...? Now lets understand that the disqualified are not like the 7 sons of Sceva. In fact demons fleed at their invocation yet the Father says I NEVER KNEW YOU May that never our portion. How will it feel like after all the fastings, prayers, evangelisms,... God says I never knew you. It will be unbearable, the dream of eternity will be shattered. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Tim 4:3-4 The above scripture is evident in our days. The questions we need to ask is, what are we preaching? What gospel are we spreading? Is it the gospel of Jesus or man-made, diluted fanatics? As a called and chosen unto the Lord, we need to prove our calling. Apostle Paul proved and spoke about his calling in his epistles. You need to ask yourself: was it God himself who called me? What did He tell me? What message did He give me?... Then you analyse your call in the light of the scripture. Remember SATAN translates himself as an ANGEL OF LIGHT. Then you check what you preach and teach. Is it inspired by the Holy Ghost. Brethren, eternity is more than titles and names. Bible say we should prove all things. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. I Thess 5:12. Prove all things. Prove your call not unto men but unto yourself. Be sure you are called into ministry and listen to God. Do exactly as He says because partial obedience amounts to disobedience. It is appauling how these days believers lack the bereans attitude. Acts 17:29. We must check what we preach and what we listen in light of scriptures. It is sad that some preachers now project themselves instead of God and have idolized themselves. It is heart breaking how some believers have made some preachers their standard either than God. We need to watch our walk with God. Weve got to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in all we do. Remember that curse is the man who makes flesh his arm. Let us as called and chosen believers project Jesus Christ not ourselves. Let us endeavour to learn the truth and keep it. Let us lay up treasures in heaven. Finally, lets look to Jesus our author and finisher. The Lord lead and help us in all so we shall continually abide in Him. AMEN!
