CITY DOESNT NEED A NEW POLICE TAJ MAHAL, BOB MCCAIG . . . The St. Thomas developer who asserts the case for a new police station is a “fiscal tragedy” took his campaign right to city hall Monday. In a deputation to city council, Bob McCaig reminded members the economic landscape has changed and the new reality dictates a purpose-built police station on city-owned land adjacent to the Timken Centre is no longer fiscally prudent. “St. Thomas has lost the tax base of virtually all but two of its industries,” McCaig pointed out. “Walk Talbot Street, the commercial base is empty.
