COME Saturday Morning I will be on KTXR-FM 101.3 and Radiospringfield starting at 6:05 am doing my 1890th Saturday show. And while there is no strange theme this week you can be assured I will surprise and amaze with music from well-knowns like Mel Torme; the Pointer Sisters; Bobby Goldsboro; Michael Johnson (Bluer than Blue); Cyndi Lauper; Europe; and Reba. As always I will play a few 45s and 33 long plays that are really non-main stream. For example the group Hot Butter doing At the Movies. Pictured: the covers of 3 1965-1966 teenager fan magazines I bought within the last week at a local flea market. While none are really rare, let me point out something about the picky attitude of fanatic collectors. Notice the MOVIE LIFE cover. Ordinarily I would have passed on this at $4 BUT see the paper attached to the bottom of the magazine promoting the Beatles pics? That little original paper item still attached to the magazine cover after 49 years takes the magazine to a higher value level----BECAUSE 90 percent of that movie mag issue would have lost the little attached paper a long time ago. The little Beatles paper promo is little but rare.
