COMPARISON HB/SB 76: Has been the subject of two Independent Fiscal office analyses (the second due shortly), two Department of Revenue analyses, one analysis by the House Appropriations Committee, one analysis (with another one in process) by the PA Association of Realtors, and three hearings in Finance Committees (two House, one Senate). The legislation has been sliced, diced, dissected, and put under a virtual microscope and still, with some adjustments, comes up clean. HB 1189, Rep. Seth Grove’s fraudulent, useless local property tax relief bill: Nada. Zip. Zilch. Nothing. Not one analysis or hearing to determine the viability of this legislation. Where are similar studies and hearings for HB 1189? Is this legislation so perfect that it does not require the same scrutiny as HB/SB 76? Why are Finance Chair Kerry Benninghoff and Grove shoving this untested bill down our throats without proper vetting? Dumb question. The House GOP leadership through its fawning parasites, Benninghoff and Grove, are doing all they can to kill HB/SB 76 while passing useless legislation so they can later brag during election time that they gave us property tax “relief.” They are thumbing their nose at the taxpayers’ demand for school property tax elimination through HB/SB 76 so they can keep their special interest campaign contributors fat and happy and to prevent their caucus members from having to declare themselves on HB/SB 76 in a public floor vote. They are demonstrating the worst sort of favoritism, cronyism, and political misdirection while continuing to allow the homeowners of Pennsylvania to suffer. They are despicable and do not deserve the position of public trust that they hold. This must end NOW! We, the people, WILL BE HEARD.
