Cord leader and The Peoples Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka got a rare international mission to chair the Commonwealth observer team to the Sri Lankan elections and spared no time to hit at Jubilee government over its attempts to pull out Kenya from the international community. Musyoka’s appointment, despite being an opposition leader, is causing discomfort in the Jubilee government, as it continues to portray the Uhuru government as lacking international voices in electoral justice and diplomacy Musyoka will lead a high level team which includes Ms Jenni McMullan, former Electoral Officer for Victoria, Australia, Dr Shamsul Huda, former Chief Election Commissioner Bangladesh and Ms Examin Philbert, Secretary, Caribbean Association of Local Government Authorities Saint Lucia. “We have just come from a hotly contested election and the fact that the Commonwealth Secretariat has seen it fit to appoint an opposition leader to lead an observer mission to an election in the Asian continent speaks volumes,” Kalonzo said.
