Call interested Ventures/Rovers! Lough Dan are planning Work Party Weekends once a month. They will be on the third Saturday of each month. In exchange for some work there will be no camp fee charged and depending on numbers free/subsidised meals. Hopefully starting work at 10.30 on Saturday morning, work for a few hours, lunch followed by a little more work and then its free time after that. Some limited indoor accommodation will be available. A rough work schedule will be based on a combination of routine maintenance such as cleaning ditches, cutting hedges, removing stones etc and adding to the on-site activities. Bring work clothes and what tools you have. Lough Dan will try to have a good variety of work and much of the work will be the “many hands” type thing. They are taking a flexible approach and change/adapt as needs be. September 21st: Completion of mud run. Bring old clothes October 19th: Construction of Night Navigation exercise. Bring Map, compass and wet weather gear. November 16th: Building of sweat House December Date to be arranged: Christmas barbeque January 18th: Construction of Neolithic hut February 15th: Preparation for Native woodland tree planting. Bring shovels/spades March 15th: Tree planting weekend.
