Canada Day Parade Woke up at three in the morning and laid there till the alarm went off at five. Got out of bed and met Mosie at the barn . We fed and cleaned all the stalls. Ran back home to awake Timmery and get ready myself to go back to the barn to prepare for the parade and load the horses. Ellie My quarter horse who has not been off the property in four year let alone going on a trailer In a long time once to a show and once when I bought her. My daughter Tiffany wanted to try and take her in the parade so she could ride alongside her daughter Timmery and her horse Skip . I had faith that Ellie would be a good girl. On seeing the trailer though Ellie stood back awaiting her turn to load and I could see was getting agitated. I walked her off to the side and let her have a few mouth full of green grass while I told her that we are going on a trip but that she would be coming back with me to Rushmount and that I loved her very much and she had to be a good girl on this trip with my daughter. When the animal communicator was here Ellie told her that she loved her life at this farm and our family. I just wanted to reassure Ellie I was not selling her and she would be coming back. She looked me right in the eyes and I knew that she was listening to every word I said. You could see the calmness come over her and when it was her turn to get on the trailer up she went with no problem. Along the parade route she was so good and never batted a eye at all the people noise and sirens . Now she probable has done this before with the other owner who was so good to her as well as I but in my heart I know she was happy to know she was coming back home. skip trailer well and he has never been to a parade. So on the first corner his eyes bugged out of his head. My heart dropped thinking oh no this is going to be bad. I ran up beside Skip and stroked his front and patted his shoulder and walked really close and talked soft that he would be fine and it was just people. Only took one block and he calmed down and was good the rest of the way. Canada was a success for me . I had two horse that I love and My daughter and my Granddaughter and me as a Mother and Grandmother could not have been prouder that day to see all three generation walking together in a parade celebrating our country doing the things we love to do in a free country like ours.
