Cancer Donation Jimmy V Foundation “Don’t Give Up...Don’t Ever Give Up.” A quote from Jimmy Valvano when he gave his famous speech at the ESPY awards in 1993. This week Mr. Thayse’s class will be asking for donations to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research. Many students and teachers have family and friends who have been affected by cancer. Your donations will help find a cure for cancer. Each day of the week we will donate specific coins. Wednesday-bring in pennies for a war against cancer. Thursday-bring in nickels and dimes to show your support. Friday-bring your quarters to the fight. Monday-bring in dollars and checks to help save lives. **Checks can be made out to LCIS and one large check will be cut at the end and sent to “The V Foundation” Please turn your donations in to your teacher or you can find donation boxes in the library, office, and Mr. Thayse’s classroom. Be sure to label your donations in an envelope with your class name. The class that raises the most money will win a pizza party. Second place will earn an ice cream party. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 23rd. Lets fight cancer!
