Captain Joe Fox, Captain of El Zorro and Nautilimo uniqueboattours 305-942-3793 El Zorro means Fox in Spanish. I really named the boat after myself! I am building a new pirate ship right now called The Golden Seahorse. It is about 40 ft long. I built both these boats too. I have been building boats since I was about 12 years old. I built my first hydroplane when I was in Pittsburgh in the basement. I raced it on rivers up north. The Nautilimo started while I was in Mexico on assignment, but I didnt know it. I had so much fun teaching and building soap box derby cars with the kids in my spare time and on weekends, that as I reminisced about that time, the idea of a boat car came to be. Wouldnt that be fun? A car on the water. I built a sports car first. After the sports car, came a Pontiac I built over a little Boston Whaler. One day my wife mentioned that it was a shame I could only take 1 passenger on it. She suggested it would be great if I had something bigger and could take more passengers on it. Have a little tour boat. About then, an old classic Cadillac drove by. The Caddy limo popped into my head and the next day I started building it. A 77 Cadillac stretch limo. It was a lot of fun to build it, and it is so much fun. It is so popular. More people want to ride in the limo than on the pirate ship! I came here from Massachusetts in 1983. I sailed down and I lived on my boat. I worked in the Virgin Islands with my Electronics business on Submarine Warfare. I designed tracking for subs, Russian Subs. We did all our testing in the Virgin Islands. I was really disappointed when Russia ran out of money and their economy collapsed. That was the end of their Nuclear Submarine Fleet. The subs all went back to port and pretty much stayed there. That business leveled off to zero. Simultaneously, Hurricane Hugo hit the Virgin Islands and destroyed them. My boats were all sunk. That is when I decided to come back to the Keys. I always loved electronics. I am an electronic engineer. It is fascinating. I have had a fun life. I reflect back on it and wish I could do it again!
