Castiel is what people like to call ‘lonely’. He doesn’t - TopicsExpress

Castiel is what people like to call ‘lonely’. He doesn’t think so though. He doesn’t have any friends, he hasn’t had any lovers and he doesn’t have any family, but Castiel just likes to say that instead of being lonely, he lacks affection. He lacks the feeling of being wanted, needed and loved. During college, he sits alone. At lunch time he makes his way to a café not far from the college, alone. At lessons he sits at the back on the far right, alone. No one bothers to talk to him, to smile at him, to see if he’s alright, so he doesn’t attempt to do the same. Castiel just doesn’t see the point. He doesn’t see why he should start the conversation; to smile at someone, to tell someone he’s not alright when the person could do it all for him. Castiel thinks that it’s just better this way; no one to leave him behind, to disappoint and get attached to. He’s sat in his usual seat in the café, at the back where the lights are dimmer than anywhere else. There are no large windows for people to look into to stare at him as they walk past. His hands reach forward to grab the hot cup of fresh coffee, a burning sensation shoots through his fingers as his cold finger tips touch the cup. Castiel’s about to take a sip of coffee when he hears a cough beside him. He turns his head and looks up, keeping the cup in the same place. There’s a guy who looks roughly the same age stood wearing an over sized plaid shirt pulled over a dark green t-shirt, looking down at him. "What?" Castiel asks bluntly, trying not to show how surprised he is at the sudden appearance of a person. "Can… can I sit here?" he guy asks, voice confident and eyes bright. "Um," Castiel gulps, not taking his eyes off the guy, “I suppose." The guy smiles and sits opposite Castiel, setting his cardboard take-out cup in front of him. Castiel places his cup down and looks around the room, seeing many empty tables near the front of the café. He turns back and looks at the man who’s already looking at him. Castiel blinks quickly a few times and looks away, his heart beat increasing slightly. The man smiles softly and lets out a quiet chuckle, “You looked lonely." Castiel furrows his eyebrows and diverts his gaze to look back at the guy, “I’m not lonely. I just lack affection." The man’s eyes widen slightly before a loud laugh escapes his lips, “That’s a new one." Castiel juts out his bottom lip slightly, slumping in his seat, “But it’s true." The man slowly stops laughing and grins, “What’s your name?" he asks before picking up his cup and taking a sip, and Castiel sees him cringe slightly as the hot liquid burns his tongue. "Castiel." Castiel replies, trying not to smile, “You?" "Dean." he replies, green eyes focusing on Castiel’s blue ones. Dean tilts his head downwards, fingers tapping against the cup and looks up through his eyelashes, a smirk ghosting at his lips, “So, Castiel, what type of affection do you want?" Castiel tilts his head to the side in thought, pushes his cup to the side, leans forward and whispers, “Yours.”
