Categorizing Metal into sub-genres has its merits and demerits . Im a huge fan of Thrash Metal and whenever I see a band labelled as Thrash Metal I just have to listen to them , but I am not a big fan of some sub-genres such as Doom Metal and Nu-Metal but I do listen to some of the bands which fall under that category and enjoy them sometimes . There are so many awesome bands out there tagged as Nu-Metal and what not sub-genres which leads you to avoid them because of some stereotypes that all Doom Metal bands are boring and Nu-Metal bands are like Limp Bizkit . Thats when categorizing music proves to be a major hindrance when you are trying to discover more god music to listen to . Anyone feel the same ? - Arvind
