Centuries (stylized as Cen†uries) is a song by American rock band Fall Out Boy, released September 8, 2014 as the lead single from their upcoming sixth studio album, American Beauty/American Psycho (2015). It was co-written by Fall Out Boy, with two producers. A Gladiator-themed music video was created. The single reached No. 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and is certified Platinum by the RIAA. Centuries contains a sample of the song Toms Diner by Suzanne Vega re-recorded by American singer Lolo for the track, which Stump described as a tip of the hat to, as the band wanted to re-inject it into pop culture. Centuries Fall Out Boy [Intro:] Du du du du-du du du Du du du du du-du du du [Chorus:] Some legends are told Some turn to dust or to gold But you will remember me Remember me for centuries And just one mistake Is all it will take. Well go down in history Remember me for centuries Hey, hey, hey Remember me for centuries Mummified my teenage dreams No, its nothing wrong with me The kids are all wrong, The storys all off Heavy metal broke my heart Come on, come on and let me in The bruises on your thighs like my fingerprints And this is supposed to match The darkness that you felt I never meant for you to fix yourself [Chorus] And I cant stop til the whole world knows my name Cause I was only born inside my dreams Until you die for me, as long as there is a light, my shadows over you Cause I am the opposite of amnesia And youre a cherry blossom Youre about to bloom You look so pretty, but youre gone so soon [Chorus] [Bridge:] Weve been here forever And heres the frozen proof I could scream forever We are the poisoned youth [Chorus] Well go down in history Remember me for centuries https://youtube/watch?v=LBr7kECsjcQ
