“Cesar Chavez” The Movie Makes its Debut in Tribute Celebration in Carson A tribute event will be hosted by the City of Carson on Sunday, March 30 in celebration of Cesar Chavez Day. The community event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at California State University, Dominguez Hills Theater located at 1000 E. Victoria Street in Carson. The event is open to the public and admission and parking are free. Activities lined-up for the event include guest speakers, entertainment, mariachis, folklorico dancers, video presentation, theatrical play, an essay contest award ceremony, and Cesar Chavez The Movie. The event is Carson’s annual offering as a tribute to Cesar Chavez whose birthday is on March 31. In addition to the event, the City also marks the late labor leader’s birthday with a citywide holiday. In observance, City Hall and other City facilities will be closed on Monday, March 31.
