Changing going to your neighborhood schools and busing students all around town was a ridiculous, impractical decision. It created more problems than it solved. When my daughter was in the 6th grade, she was bussed across town and the ride one way was 45 minutes. She wouldnt get home until 5:30. By the time she ate and did her homework, it was time to go to bed. That whole year, it was like she wasnt home Monday through Friday. Bussing brought about a huge expense to the school system. That was the beginning of schools not having enough money for books and supplies as they had in the past.
