Chapter six Kairi walked up to him with her keyblade in her hand. “Thought I’d find you here…Riku.” He was silent. “What the heck is going on Riku? “I’m staying here.” “But, why?” She said with a concerned tone. He turned around to reveal his face was now half shadow. She suddenly jumped back. “Riku…” “I’m going to kill Xehanort, once and for all. That’s my purpose for living. Not for love, or anything else. She cautiously walked closer to him. “That doesn’t have to be your only purpose.” “If I were you, I’d erase all memories of me from your heart.” “Why would I do that?” “Because the Riku you knew, is dead and gone.” “What do you mean…” She felt confused. “I mean, I don’t care for you anymore.” He words were as cold as ice. She stepped back, beginning to get scared. His normal eye then changed to a harsh, heartless yellow. “A creature of the dark, stays in the dark.” “What happened to you? Please, tell me. I need to know.” “You made me realize I wasn’t fit for love.” She started to cry. “And how did I do that?” “That night you tore my heart in two. One half for Tatsuki, the other for you. I had been thinking about breaking up with her for you, but if I did that, I’d simply break up with you for her. Just like last time. So I removed myself from the equation, and came here where I was pounded by heartless. Eventually, I gave in. The power they give…it’s wonderful.” He appeared directly in front of her and grabbed her hand. “But I can’t control it, yet. So leave before someone gets hurt.” He flashed an evil smile. “I didn’t “tear your heart”. If anything, that’s what you did to me…” She pulled away from him. “I knew you wouldn’t understand.” “Riku, it doesn’t have to be this way, you can come back now…with me…You don’t have to be like this…I don’t want you to be like this…” A tear glided down her check. “One last chance to leave.” I’m not leaving Riku.” Her tone was now angered. “Then I have no choice but to kill you.” The darkness covered his hands as Lea ran in and pushed Kairi out of the way, then kicked Riku in the face. “Sorry I’m late, maybe I should put down a payment on a watch…” Riku was silent as he stood back up His darkness created a sword in his hand. His eyes were now void of life. “Lea?!” Kairi screamed. “You still here? Get going, I’ll handle things from here.” He opened a dark corridor behind her. “I said I’m not leaving!” Riku charged at lea who promptly summoned his chakrams and threw one at Riku’s feet to catch him off balance. “Kairi…You did good getting this far. Let me bear the pain you shouldn’t have to endure. It’s the gentlemen thing to do.”Lea smiled at her, then casted a ring of fire around himself and Riku. She began to cry. “ I chose to bear the pain, I have all this whole time because…I was a afraid no one would want me…after Sora left me…” “Come on Kairi, pull yourself together…” Riku’s blade of darkness sank into Lea’s shoulder. He let out a scream of pain. “You need to leave now…Find Naminé and go back…” She began to sink into a dark corridor underneath her. “Happy Hunting!” “No! Lea!!” She reached out her hand to him as she fell into the darkness of the corridor. “No…”
