Charles “Chuck” R. Hunter, 51, of Mt. Carmel, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Wabash General Hospital. He was born on January 19, 1962 in San Bernardino, CA the son of James Wesley and Glenda (Hancock) Hunter Sr. He married Jamie Whitehead on February 4, 1984, in Princeton, IN and she survives. Chuck and Jamie were very close and when Chuck was not working, they loved one another’s company. Chuck was an over the road truck driver for over fourteen years. He enjoyed driving his truck to wherever his work took him. He was previously employed at KC Transportation. Chuck loved Nascar Racing. He enjoyed watching and cheering for his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt JR. Chuck loved spending time with his family and friends. His grandson, Chase was his pride and joy. Chuck treasured the time he got to spend with Chase. Chuck will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Jamie Hunter of twenty nine years; his son, Charles “Wes” (Tiffany) Hunter of Mount Carmel; his mother, Glenda Hunter of Beardstown, IL; grandson, Chase Hunter; siblings, Brenda (Calvin) Anderson, Linda (Gene) Griffin, Robert Hunter, James Hunter all of Beardstown, IL, and Judy Hellman of Lubbock, TX; mother in law, Sue Whitehead of Owensville, IN; father in law, Jim Whitehead; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Joseph Hunter Sr. Per Chuck’s and his families’ wishes, he will be cremated.
