Charles Krauthammer is a very smart man. I don’t always agree - TopicsExpress

Charles Krauthammer is a very smart man. I don’t always agree with him 100% but he has a very concise way of putting things into perspective. His explanation of the foundation of Obamacare laid bare the roots of the Obama ideology. The Affordable Care Act stands on three pillars; the big lie, the government knows best, and sleight of hand. The “you can keep your coverage” claim was false, a lie, despite the media spin. Obamacare renders the continuation of any insurance plan deemed by Obama not to meet arbitrary standards for adequacy moot. Cancel it. In spite of Obama’s claims that it’s the evil insurance companies cancelling policies, the insurance companies are following the ACA law as written. To do otherwise would be illegal. If you’re in your sixties and don’t have maternity care, you’re terminated. How could Obama possible think he could get away with such a patently false claim that was sure to be exposed? Simple: delay, stonewall, lie some more and rely on the press to gloss over the facts of the lie. Thus, the big lie. The government knows best. As Jay Carney so eloquently stated, we canceled your plan because it was substandard. We have a better idea for you. That translates to, sure, you chose your policy, you paid the premiums, you even renewed your policy, you liked your policy but, you’re too stupid to know what you really need. We do, so, your policy is canceled. We’re the government and we’re here to help you. The government know best. Sleight of hand. All the required bells and whistles aren’t in the ACA in order to please voters. The planners knew all along that if you force people to purchase coverage they don’t need, the money could be used to subsidize other people. Obama promised to cover 30 million uninsured without costing the government one dime also falls under the big lie because he knew free lunch would sell. Free preventative care. Free contraceptives. Come and get it. When your policy is cancelled or your deductible and premiums are outrageously increased, you learn the meaning of “free”. Something paid for by your neighbor.
