Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed that he turned down three Premier League clubs this summer to make a move to Stamford Bridge, also admitting that Arsenal had an option to bring him back to the Emirates. Fabregas left England in 2011 for Barcelona, but his return to the Catalan giants was short-lived as he made the surprise move to Chelsea this summer. The Spanish international was tipped to return to Arsenal, while other clubs were also keen, however, the 27-year-old opted for a switch to Chelsea after holding positive talks with Jose Mourinho. Cesc Fabregas refuses to choose between Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, but admits he’s “very happy” at Chelsea Fabregas has been an instant success in west London since his move this summer, with the midfield maestro stringing together a formidable partnership with striker Diego Costa as the Blues continue their unbeaten run. Fabregas told reporters: “I’ve always played in clubs where I wanted to play. At the end of last season, I saw Chelsea as the best option. I always thought about a return to England and I talked to Mourinho and realised this was the best option. “It was arranged through my agent. There was no call with Mourinho, just a face-to-face meeting. Jose showed great respect and convinced me quickly. We were honest, we put aside any history and I made my decision after talking with him. Overall I had three options in England.” WANT MORE STATS?
