Chickens have been in the news lately. Huber Heights has even made it into the Toledo paper. Put all your chicken bias aside for a second. Some back story. Back in June Sarah McBride went to a council meeting with other chicken supporters and began petitioning Council to change the ordinance. A few meetings later they said, oh, we arent talking about chickens tonight so she didnt show up...then they threw it on the agenda and tabled it and said, well, if they want to do it they can but well let her keep her chickens for six months while she works on an initiative. Sarah filed her paperwork last week...four months into her extension that VERY NIGHT, the committee voted to take her chickens. The DAY SHE FILED HER PAPERWORK. She will be at the Huber Heights Farmers Market today with petitions trying to get it on the ballot. Only one member of Council has been publicly supportive the rest of them HATE the idea and are not even happy about a Citizen Initiative usurping their power. (interestingly enough, the Mayor and Mr. Starline are the ones who recommended they just go that route) Yet again, Council has sort of stuck it to a citizen trying to organize against them. There are close to five hundred of you on here. Get in contact with her and sign her petition...VOTE NO when it is on the ballot if you dont like chickens. The point here is to show Council that you are fed up with their treatment of the people they work for. Show them you dont support them harassing someone trying to organize against something they arent behind. Huber C.L.U.C.K. Search it on here, like her page, get with her. Farmers Market today...pick up some Kettle Corn while you are there and bring it to Mondays meeting...you might need it.
