#Chutzpah in Kashmir.. (A True Story) I had a friend Named Aslam, he was my classmate, though a below average boy in class, aslam was my best friend. Economically stronger than me, Aslam used to bunk classes and get his homework done by me. Days passed by, both of we traversed in Matric class and passed off successfully though he couldnt secure a distinction unlike me. After Matric i pledged to work harder than usual to get my future touch the heights, and he continued to use shortcuts to make his things get done. Somehow we appeared in class 12th exam, but alas he failed. His tricks faded away and i passed with distinction again. Though he cherished the taste of his shortcuts, yet he showed no interest to shun his age old practices. He appeared many a times and finally passed after 2 years with a Laem Laem pass as we use it in kashmiri. Economically sound, his father knewth his lackedaisical approach in studies and his failed state of mind, so he bribed a politician to get a habitation school sanctioned for his mohalla. Aslam got engaged as Ret as there was no one above 12th pass in his mohalla. I too got an opportunity to be appointed as Ret but i had something else in mind. I craved for education and not for Job. I dreamed selection to this post of teacher through prized Services selection recruitment board after getting my education completed. I went to college, then to kashmir university and also did that infamous Bachelors in Education mandatory for teacher selection through SSRB.. Finally i was selected to this prized post in 2012 till that time my friend Aslam had alread spent 4 years as Ret in this dept. Logically i was one years senior to him as he was to be regularised in 2013 as general line teacher. But the cowardice cheap ministers cabinet decision made him 4 years senior to me. Now what would call it? Cheapness of cheap minister, insanity of Education Minister or chutzpah of my fate... Laanath wasin timan yemow beh ath watnowus..
