Closer To GOD Again... A friend whose name is Mark Vener Arellano Zamora was instrumental to my being “closer” to God again. I was never a prayerful person since then. In fact, when I was in my first year in college, I contemplated on Greek Gods and Goddesses. I never maintained my religiosity even if I graduated from a Catholic School. You see, I had (and sometimes still have) this stupid belief that religion is only for “weak” people. Then I also stopped going to confession, reads the Bible only occasionally and, to be honest, Sunday Mass just became an obligation for me. At times, I was there inside the church but my mind was elsewhere. In short, for almost 20 years, I had a shallow relationship with God. But it all changed earlier this late afternoon when I texted Mila for a Sunday Night Gimik. She invited me to attend the Holy Mass. At first, Im quite hesitant to join her but since I never attended a mass since I left DWCC, I positively responded on her invitation. When we reached the church, I felt that God whispered to me saying, welcome home, son, and a sudden feeling of excitement envelop my whole being, as if the Angels in heaven are in exaltation seeing me entering again the Kingdom of Heaven. A mixed feeling of emotion took me by surprise. I shivered and I was mesmerized by the things I was so blinded to see since my childhood. At any rate, it made me HAPPY, COMPLETE and CONTENTED.
