#CoD_Pros_&_Cons Topic: African Philosophy Over the years, many have attempted to show that African philosophy is distinctive. On the one hand are arguments that focus heavily on the African whilst almost losing the philosophy in the polysemy. On the other, arguments adopt the view that philosophy is a particular way of thinking, reflecting, and reasoning; and that such a way is relatively new to (most of) Africa. Therefore, African philosophy must grow in terms of the philosophical work carried out by Africans and applied to (perhaps not exclusively) African concerns. Again, this group tread heavily on the philosophy, whilst at risk of losing the African in the polysemy. Question: is there an African Philosophy?
