Columbus College of Art & Design will be hosting film director Kelly Riechardt as a visiting artist on Monday, Oct. 6. Kelly will screen her latest film, Night Moves , starring #DakotaFanning, #JesseEisenberg, and #PeterSarsgaard, followed by a short and a lecture/discussion. Later this month, #CCAD will welcome as visiting artist, graphic novelist and filmmaker Marjane Satrapi on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. Marjane co-directed the animated feature film adaptation of Persepolis, which was nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA awards. Then, as a special bonus, she’ll also share the 15-minute short, Travis, which she produced during a 2004 Wexner Center Residency. Reichardt is a visiting faculty member at Bard College and the recipient of a Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship. Reichardt’s film Wendy and Lucy had its world premiere at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and was named one of the top ten films of 2008 by Newsweek, the New York Times, the Village Voice, the Christian Science Monitor, and the Los Angeles Times, among others. In 2010 she directed Meek’s Cutoff, which, like Wendy and Lucy, starred Michelle Williams. It competed for the Golden Lion at the 67th Venice International Film Festival.
