Completing the Dakar .... Its not the first place, its only 36th position ???? whats the Big deal ??? What is Dakar ??? these were some of the questions I got from my friends, when I tried to highlight CS Santoshs achievement. So, I thought lets do first things first ..... lets educate our friends here on what Dakar actually is and why it is undoubtedly the most enduring race in the world, where a human being and his bike are tested to the hilt !!! 9000 Kilometers in 16 days covering 3 countries Argentina, Chile and Bolivia and the most toughest terrain ..... hope the video on Joan Barreda will help people understand better and make better sense of this achievement by CS Santosh ....its the first time an Indian has participated and successfully completed the race. Not just this, he stood 31st overall and this from over 185 participants in the bike section. Motorsport like any other sport, has suffered due to the OCD that Indians have with cricket. Hopefully, this achievement by Santosh will change things for the better for Motorsport in India !!!!
