Laos top ranked Asean nation ----------------------- (from Vientiane Times) Laos has been ranked the most efficient country in Asean for turning the building blocks of creativity into tangible innovations that benefit their economies, according to a new ABD funded study. The bank and the Economist Intelligence Unit launched the new Creative Productivity Index in Manila last week, aiming to give policymakers in Asia a tool to assess how best to foster innovation and creativity in the regional economies. According to the index, Laos is ranked the 9th country out of the total 24 economies around the world, becoming the top country in Asean. Singapore is ranked 10th country, Indonesia is the 12th ranked country and Malaysia is ranked 13th country. Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar and Cambodia are ranked 15th, 16th, 18th, 22nd and 24th respectively.
