Consider Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan as he lost everything - TopicsExpress

Consider Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan as he lost everything at 5 years old and became lame. YOU know life is not fair in many ways. But understand many people that we have envied may be lost forever and ever, tormented forever in ever in a lake of fire. Yet still, we could all wish for a better deck of cards given to us, sure we all have felt this way, lacking understanding of how fortunate we are with the deck that have been deal to us. We must see our design as carefully methodically planned by God for his glory, our struggles, our pains, all to give us gratitude for his mercy and grace that has carried us every step of the way. Our pains and struggles, gives us more humility and more love for God for carrying us and loving us, despite our wicked broken past. Amen! Now also if we desire to be used by God and do something significant in the Kingdom, this will require much more Faith. Which is a good thing for us, for without Faith it is impossible to please God. Amen! I could wish to be Solomon, or David, or one of the Kings son, that was robed in riches and lived in Castles, and rode in chariots, and had their choice of the most beautiful women in their day. Sure I could really imagine how awesome that must have been. Amen! Now, here is the good news, I know the story of Jonathans son, who feared David, after his father had been killed alone side Saul in battle. He was brought to the Palace to see the KING, and trembled in fear. He was given a robe, and was invited to be adopted into living in the Kings Palace, eating the Kings food, and drinking the Kings wine, setting next to the Kings son. Praise Jesus, he like me was once lost, but now he was found! Here what happen that he became lame, not able to walk. King James Version (KJV) @ Samuel 4 -4 And Jonathan, Sauls son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth. Now because David loved Jonathan so much, and they had made covenant together, all of Jonathan remaining seed, would be blessed forever by David. Now because God loved Jesus so much, all those that come to God through Jesus Christ, will inherit eternal life. 2 Samuel 9:6-13 King James Version (KJV) 6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! 7 And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy fathers sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. 8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am? 9 Then the king called to Ziba, Sauls servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy masters son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house. 10 Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy masters son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy masters son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. 11 Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the kings sons. 12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth. 13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the kings table; and was lame on both his feet. Praise Jesus life hear on earth is temporal, our struggles and pains, May this post help us to be grateful for the reality of there are many MANSIONS IN OUR FATHERS HOUSE. We shall behold our KING, face to face, and forever and ever, set at the Kings table as one of his beloved sons and daughters. Hallelujah! How can we ever be discontent about anything in this temporal life. Patience with praise and gratitude, let it always be known of us. May we endure whatever temporal light afflictions, heartaches and pains we must endure. For we are more than conquerors today, and every day! Praise JESUS!
