Corey here. I know I waited until the final hours, but Im ready to make a prediction on the game today. Last weekend made Alabama look like juggernauts, but I believe many forgot their offensive woes against Ole Miss and Arkansas. Some have pointed to a lack of leadship among the players, others to communication issues between Simms and Kiffin, but whatever the cause they simply havent put together a strong offensive performance away from Bryant-Denney this year. Alabama has also struggled to establish the run at times this season. While we arent a great run defense, we are generally stout and have withstood rushing attacks powered by much better offensive lines. As for Bamas ability to pass, they simply havent faced a pass defense quite like ours. Of course, that simply adds up to a weak offensive day for the Tide, but what about our offense? Well, we must rely upon the uncertainty of the quarterback situation to try and spark things today. Trying to prepare for multiple options at QB is a tall task, and sometimes thats enough to get things going. Running the ball will be difficult today, and this is a Bama team that is capable of mounting a solid rush. Keeping the QB upright will be very important, or the QB will need to keep the defense guessing by running the ball. Either way, there must be some success on the ground or the passing game is likely to look lackluster again. All this adds up to a defensive struggle. Its going to come down to who gets the breaks and whether or not they can capitalize on them. Im calling this one close, 17-14. Winner is the team that can make the breaks and score just enough.
