Corsas 3 Young Lions 0 Corsas come into the game looking to build on last weeks brilliant win at West Kirby. Its a bright start from the boys and all the early action takes place in the Lions half. Corsas are playing some great stuff and a good ball through from Harry gives Alfie an early chance, forcing a good save from the Lions keeper. Saul is causing problems down the right wing crossing for Alfie again, whose shot was blocked. Ruben is putting in his usual hard work not giving the Lions midfield any time on the ball. The breakthrough finally comes after a long ball forward from Matthew. Alfie slots a perfect ball for Jimmy running on and he sticks it past the keeper into the bottom corner. Corsas keep up the pressure til the half and look really solid at the back. Elim is getting back to his best, very strong and is partnered by Morgan who seems to be enjoying his new defensive role. Another player who is showing more confidence is Leyton. Hes started getting stuck in and played some great balls forward today. Keep it up!! Half time 1-0. Lions show a bit more determination to get into the game after the break and start to get more men forward. Matthew deals with a few shots comfortably while Lewis shows great pace to get back at a striker who was clean through. Jimmy settles any nerves midway through the half with his 2nd. Another cool finish low past the keeper. The confidence returns and we look dangerous with every attack. Ruben forces a good save from the keeper and Jimmy slams the the rebound against the post. Another attack sees Alfie pressure the defence and cross for Jimmy again. The hatrick eludes him the with the goal gaping!! Harry wraps it up with the third just before the end, firing home after a good pass from Jimmy. We really need to keep this up now and keep the confidence flowing throughout the team.
